Ngum Chum: SF vs LA

I've had my fair share of time spent in sunny southern California....and I have to say....it was one of the best times of my life... good food, great weather...and some of my most memorable experiences sprang out of LA. But for me, Los Angeles was more than a great place to live. It gave me an environment to grow and express myself.....all too often a luxury that many people crave but so very few accomplish finding.....and I was lucky enough to snag that chance.
But throughout all those crazy experiences and the many memories I have picked up, I somehow feel San Francisco always creeps back in my head to remind me of just how special my hometown is. It's kind of that Tony Bennett feeling ya know? the...."I left my heart....in San Francisco" mentality.
Right....I get it.. I was FROM there... "no shit you love your city, Art... you grew up there..." born there... grew up there....raised there..... I get it... But you'd be surprised just how many people I ask from LA if you were to choose between the two cities that they would prefer or rather live in SF....... and vice versa... people from SF are down for the Southland.... Maybe there are those who would prefer either city for a short period of time.... a vacation.... a weekend getaway.... or maybe you always want what you can't have... sunshine and tans 24/7 when maybe you just WANT to throw on a scarf and pea coat and stroll the beautiful streets of SF on a chilly night.... a little too much clam chowder at Fisherman's Wharf when all you want everyday is a Pink's hotdog and an ice cream at the Santa Monica Pier.... Dodgers all around you when you are all about the Giants..... dang maybe you just dont have a car....we all know that could change a lot of things...Whatever their steez is, everybody has a reason for why they prefer one over the other. And why are there such defined stereotypes of San Franciscians and Los Angelians? Or are there? Frisko heads are freethinkers and slightly on the eccentric side... while peeps from LA are for the image and the dough...I dont know...maybe, maybe not.
If this applies to you.....fill me in.... tell me where you from... and between the two cities, what are you down for more and why.... City of Angels or the Sucka Free..... whats up??


If this doesnt apply so much.....shit if this turns into west coast / east coast thing too?...by all means..... by all means.... fill me in...

The turnout.....

     There were record breaking numbers in attendance this year as the Imprinted Sportswear Show in Long beach came to an end. All of the best designers, digitizers, embroiderers, and screen printers gathered to showcase some of the newest machinery and of course the latest in printing and apparel decorating technologies. The most recent updates of ISS being the workshops that were provided by industry leaders. 

     Big ups to the entire Fantasy crew for representing..... Steph, Derrick, Johnny Boy, Dixon, and Brian....Thanks guys.....we all done..... and we coming home.....!!

Back in the Laboratory.....

Website designer extraordinaire Terry McCall joins our crew today for yet another session @ Derrick's lab for a website overhauling to revise our current site. Design priorities will include updating the site to be more user friendly, and implementing a shopping cart for online purchases of our tees.....

Ngum Chum: Resolutions?

2010. A brand new year.... a brand new decade at that. What a great time to set some truly attainable resolutions and follow through to keep them. Unfortunately for me.... it's only half way through the bloody month and i done effed up already. I wanted to get my nutrition on and try to tame the bulge I got going on but I find myself dreaming more of Cheeseboard Pizza and Richmond tacos than patching the holes I drilled to extend the life of my belts. I know... I know... it is a time for a fresh start.... a new beginning... but I can't seem to shake '09 off of me...
Fill me in.... what promises have you neglected or haven't even begun yet (cause they suck so much)?

Ngum Chum: What is this?

Well..... to celebrate the new year, Fantasy T-Shirts will be working on offering new and exciting products and services to our customers, not to mention staying abundantly available with new articles and announcements about upcoming events on our blog.
Along with that thought is a new bulletin from Arthur titled, "Ngum Chum", a Cantonese saying which directly translates to "chatter" or "rambling". Ngum Chum will be Arthur's personal gateway to ramble with the public about random topics as he will be raising thoughts and asking questions about practically... anything to stir up new ideas for future FreeBerkeley designs.

whats next?? ......ISS

Once again, the ISS Show is coming to Long Beach, CA this year and Fantasy T-Shirts will be there to represent! An annual convention show featuring the nation's largest garment and apparel companies and distributors, the Imprinted Sportswear shows attracts more than 13,000 industry professionals to come learn of new equipment and cutting edge secrets on apparel decorating.
We will be attending the whole show (Jan. 22nd.- Jan. 24th), eager to expand on our production capabilities and picking up a few classes along the way... catch up with us there or make plans to grab a brewsky with us at the local Yard House!
